Balancing your histamine response

Minerals & Amino Acids

Such as copper which is at the heart of the histamine metabolising enzyme DAO.

Wholefoods

Such as organic acerola for naturally occuring vitamin C to balance histamine.

Probiotics

Metabolism in the gut is an essential pathway for healthy histamine metabolism.

Metabolism vs Suppression

Histamine is an important part of our healing response but too much can lead to lingering symptoms.

Instead of suppressing symptoms such as with antihistamines, our complex aims to give your body the resources it needs to process histamine.

This allows histamine to be cleared more efficiently as it should be a short lived inflammatory mediator.

The quality of the ingredients and the forms of the nutrients used in this complex are one of a kind! I personally use this for histamine issues around my monthly cycle and have clients who are using it as part of a gut health and skin protocol with great results! Abby

I've been trialling this supplement for a week and it has been a lifesaver! In the morning I get quite itchy eyes and sneeze (which I suspect is a mild allergy to cat hair). I take a couple of capsules and my symptoms are gone within an hour so, such a relief! Jacquie

About

Creatine Monohydrate - Enhancing Histamine Metabolism and Energy Production

Creatine monohydrate indirectly promotes histamine metabolism by supporting the activity of histamine-metabolizing enzymes, such as diamine oxidase (DAO) and histamine-N-methyltransferase (HNMT). By facilitating the breakdown of histamine, creatine reduces its accumulation and helps alleviate histamine intolerance symptoms. Additionally, creatine plays a vital role in cellular energy production, ensuring optimal function and efficiency in histamine metabolism.

Organic Acerola: Natural Vitamin C - Antioxidant Defense and Histamine Modulation

Acerola is a rich source of natural vitamin C which is a potent antioxidant. Vitamin C protects against histamine-induced oxidative stress, which can exacerbate histamine intolerance symptoms. By neutralizing free radicals and reducing oxidative damage, vitamin C helps maintain a balanced histamine response. Furthermore, vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

L-Theanine - Calming Inflammation and Modulating Histamine Release

L-theanine, derived from green tea, exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the activation of pro-inflammatory signaling molecules, such as nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB). By reducing inflammation, L-theanine helps modulate histamine release and mitigate histamine-related discomfort. Moreover, L-theanine promotes relaxation by enhancing alpha brain wave activity, which can reduce stress-induced histamine release.

Bromelain - Digestive Support and Histamine Breakdown

Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme found in pineapple, aids in the digestion of proteins, including histamine-rich foods. By facilitating protein breakdown, bromelain supports proper digestion and minimizes the absorption of intact histamine molecules. This digestive support helps reduce histamine accumulation in the body and alleviates digestive symptoms associated with histamine intolerance. Bromelain has also been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). By reducing inflammation, bromelain may indirectly decrease the release or synthesis of histamine in certain immune cells.

Boswellia - Anti-inflammatory Action and Histamine Balance

Boswellia possesses potent anti-inflammatory properties due to its active components, such as boswellic acids. By inhibiting the activity of pro-inflammatory enzymes, including 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), boswellia helps reduce histamine-induced inflammation and promotes a balanced histamine response.

Copper - The Central Atom of Histamine Metabolism Enzymes

Minerals play an important role in histamine balance and copper is no exception. Copper is an essential cofactor for DAO, the primary enzyme responsible for breaking down histamine in the gut. Adequate copper levels ensure proper DAO activity, facilitating efficient histamine metabolism and preventing its accumulation.

Vitamin B6 - Enzyme Co-Factor in Histamine Clearance

Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine or P5P, plays a crucial role in the metabolism of histamine. It is a cofactor in the production of enzymes that metabolise histamine, further supporting its regulation. While vitamin B6 may not directly lower histamine levels, its role in histamine metabolism suggests that it can help alleviate the effects of histamine-related conditions.

Bifidobacterium infantis and Bifidobacterium longum - Gut Microbiota Support for Improved Histamine Tolerance

Bifidobacterium infantis and Bifidobacterium longum, two beneficial probiotic strains, play a crucial role in supporting a healthy gut microbiota. By promoting a balanced microbial environment, these strains help optimize digestion and reduce histamine production in the gut. Furthermore these two specific strains have been to suppress allergic type symptoms and decrease histamine levels.

Product FAQs

Find common questions and answers to our histamine metabolism support complex here.

Should I purchase the glass jar or refill pouch?

If it's your first time purchasing this product we would suggest purchasing the jar and then utilising the refill pouches for top ups as these can be delivered through the letterbox. Please note that a maximum of two refill pouches can fit inside a large letter (Royal Mail).

What is the capsule size?

Our supplement capsules are smaller than industry standard (which are typically size 00). This makes them easier to take for those who struggle with larger capsules.

Can I take this supplement if I pregnant or breast feeding?

This supplement is not suitable for those pregnant. Please consult with your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding.

How do I start taking this supplement?

As with any new supplement, always start with 1 capsule after food first and slowly build up from there or as professionally directed. It is preferable to take the complex after or during breakfast to help reduce histamine build up throughout the day.

Is this supplement as effective as anti-histamine such as Centirizine?

This complex uses a combination of natural compounds that work syngeristically to improve the metabolism of histamine and reduce its effects. Drugs on the other hand target very specific receptors in the body so it is difficult to compare the two. We do not know whether this supplement is as effective as anti histamine drugs but overtime we may be able to assess this.

Will this supplement make me feel drowsy?

Anti-histamine drugs can induce drowsiness by working against histamine which is one of our 'awake' based hormones/neurotransmitters. Our formula is much more gentle than anti-histamine drugs and does not tend to cause drowsiness but this may vary from person to person.

What is the maximum number of capsules I can go take in one serving?

We recommend taking no more than 2 capsules in one serving, and a maximum of 4 per day or as professionally directed.

Can I take this supplement on an empty stomach?

We recommend taking our histamine metabolism support complex after food initially after which you may explore taking it away from food.
